Lydia Pearce has been working closely with horses almost all of her life, she started off as an amateur jockey and eventually went on to be champion lady rider. When she first got her Amateur license, she was seen as a huge inspiration to other young aspiring female jockets. She won some big races which included: The Ladies Diamond Race and The Queen Mothers Cup.
Lydia rode some very talented horses for some of the biggest trainers around, she won on 'Make a Stand' for Martin Pipe, who then went on the win The Champion Hurdle, whilst also getting notable rides for John Gosden, Sheikh Mohammed and William Jarvis, just to name a few.
When she had finished her race riding career she then became an assistant trainer to her husband Jeff Pearce and helped support her son Simon in his race riding career. Lydia later took over the training license and is now in charge of the yard with her son/stable jockey Simon working alongside. Lydia being a huge lover of horses still loves to ride out with the other workers every now and again.
