Spring-ing Into Action

26th March 2018

What an exciting spring we have in store for everyone involved with #TeamPRO, starting with the magnificent return of our lovely mare Versifier. It's been a long time coming for the Oliver Sherwood trained mare, she's always been highly thought of by everyone at the stable, but in all honesty for the majority of her career she's not quite lived up to expectations. She ran a couple of good races for her owners last season, finishing 3rd in a bumper and also a good 2nd over hurdles behind a nice type. However inbetween/since then she's ran as if something was amiss, she finished very distressed at Leicester and was since found to have quite a bad wind issue. She recently made her return after the operation and it was like watching a brand new horse, she ran a fantastic race at Huntingdon to finish a very close 2nd, hitting the finish line like a winner in waiting. We couldn't have been happier with her return and it's fair to say her owners should be in for an exciting spring/summer ahead. We've still got shares available in her, they are very affordable and no doubt we'll have some good fun with her over the next few months. Shares start from - 2% - £300 initial cost & £60 per month.

Yesterday we saw Contre Tous in action at Carlisle, who was looking to back up his recent win over hurdles. He ran a cracking race considering he was carrying almost 2 stone more than the eventual winner, he finished 3rd after traveling very well into the race. It was a canny ride by 'Richard Johnson' on the winner as he made it a real good test of stamina to run the finish out of his opponents, which unfortunately was just to much for Contre Tous given the weight he was carrying. We are now targeting a listed 2m chase at Ayr on Scottish National Day, it should be a good test for him and there's a big prize on offer.

As always with this time of year, we get very excited about seeing the young 2yo's getting stuck into their work. We've seen some impressive displays from our new 2yo gelding 'Bungle Billy' who's in training with Les Eyre. He's been doing some nice work with a talented horse of Les' and he looks like he's going to be an early type, we're hoping to see him make his racecourse debut before the end of April. We've got a stable visit organised for the 7th of April for all of his owners, if you are interested in getting involved with him and fancy coming along then please get in touch.
